The girls from work and I went out for breakfast this morning and it was fantastic!! I forgot how much I love going out for breakfast. It's been awhile. Then the girls came over to meet the puppy, and Kris brought Valentine's presents over. So it was a bit of chaos in the house! Everything was good and the girls were being pretty good, so when I gave the girls the rawhide cards that Kris brought over I didn't think anything of it. Well, let me tell you, it was a TERRIBLE idea!! :( Marley wanted to play and thought it was a toy and Luna is very protective of her rawhides, and because of this, we had the first dog fight we have ever had. I am still so sad about it. The puppy overreacted a bit, because she was scared, but it totally freaked me out that Luna didn't back down. I had to physically remove the puppy from the situation. Makes me so sad, and of course embarrassed that they acted that way. I'm extremely disappointed too, because Leslie (Sema's daughter) got to meet the dogs for the first time, and I pray she didn't leave her being afraid of them. I would have been if I didn't know our dogs, so I would completely understand if she never wanted to see them again. My goal, especially once I'm done with school, is to work really hard on getting the girls to behave appropriately. They need to know boundaries and understand that they are dogs, not people. This is all my fault for teaching them otherwise, but they will have to learn how to behave right. I don't want people to be scared of them, or not want to come over cause they know they will be jumped on and nipped at. That is NOT OK! We are gonna work really hard to get them better, and I am more then willing to sign up for more classes so they can learn the right way.
Anyways, I have to go to school to collect data for my experiment in a bit, and then home to celebrate Valentine's day with the hubby. We might by celebrating by working on obedience with the pups! HA! Although, we don't really have anything exciting planned anyways. Happy Valentine's Day!

Introducing....
our newest family member! Marley!!
I think most people were surprised to see that we got a new puppy. The thing is that we have been looking for about a month for a puppy, or at least feeling out the idea. Mark has this big thing with wanting a hunting dog, but we couldn't decide on what kind because I'm not a huge fan of labs. His dad has a lab and he grew up with labs, but I had a bad experience with a lab giving me huge welts in my legs because of it's tail whacking me. We looked into get a Vizsla but the breeder in the area had them for $1500. I would NEVER spend that type of money on a dog. Sorry! There are plenty of dogs out there needing a home, and they are more like $300. Anyways, we went to the Pet Expo (more on that later) on Saturday and we saw there was a lab rescue. On a whim, on Sunday, I looked at Pet Finder at labs, and there just happened to be 2 black lab puppies at Elmbrook Humane Society. So we jumped right into the car and headed over. There were about 15 puppies there (of all different breeds, but only 2 labs), and we were third in line to see the labs, so I figured there was no chance we would be able to get one. But, luck was on our side! We got to see both lab puppies, and we decided on Jenny, who we renamed to Marley. She won Mark's heart immediately. She is a labpug mix (Mark isn't thrilled with her mix). She ended up being $300, and she is already fixed, vetted, and we get our first vet visit with her free (today), and puppy obedience class. Plus, even more important, we are RESCUING a dog, which sits better with my heart. She has done AMAZINGLY well! Only a few accidents in the house. Her and Stella are becoming friends, and Luna is tolerating her for the most part.
