Sara Bareilles concert

Since her first album came out I have been listening to Sara Bareilles non stop.  She is an amazing musician and I have been lucky enough to see her every time she has come in to town.  I love that she plays the piano (like me!) and that she recently started playing the guitar too.  She mesmerizes me with her stage performance.  Last week, she was in town and  Marky Mark and me got REALLY lucky and scores some tickets to her super intimate tour.  She chose to go out on a tour all alone!  This means she had no openers and no other musicians on stage with her.  Very #Brave!  She was amazing to see!  Her voice sounded better than ever, along with her piano and guitar playing.  Her best performance of the night had to be when she played the electric guitar to 'Come Around Soon'.  There were about 400 people in the audience so the tickets were extremely difficult to get.  So happy we were able to see her!  This was unlike any other concert I have ever been too!

Jammin' out to 'Come Around Soon'

She is so cute!

And so funny!
Not only did she do some amazing music that night, she is HILARIOUS!  I can't wait for her new album to come out this summer called 'The Blessed Unrest'.  She played a couple songs off of the new album and I fell in love with 'Manhattan'. I'm so happy I was able to find a video of it off of YouTube from the actual show in Milwaukee.  I will be watching this many times until July...

TreSkinRX review

About 3 weeks ago, I won a contest to get a free sample of TreSkinRX. (This was the most exciting thing ever because I have never won a contest ever!)

I received the kit from a girl I went to high school with, Jenny Jones, who is a launch manager for the company. She sent me a 2 week sample for oily skin.  The sample included face wash, exfoliant, and moisturizers.  Their big, most important product is the exfoliant, it is called EX3 and you actually leave it on.  About 2 days after I started using it, I noticed that my pores on my nose started shrinking!  This is HUGE because I have never been able to find anything to help with this.  I also noticed that I wasn't quite as oily as I normally would be.  It didn't cure my oil issue, but it definitely helped it.  I LOVED how the product smelled, which I read a lot of reviews that said they hated the smell.  The unfortunate thing about all of this is the cost.  For someone like me who likes to pinch pennies as much as possible, I can't bring myself to purchase the product.  At $42.50 for just the cleanser, it's just not something I can justify spending my money on.  But for others who are looking for an all natural, organic product who doesn't worry too much about the cost, then this would definitely be the product.  They use aloe in their products in place of water, this is similar to L'Bri who does the same thing.  The main difference between the two is that TreSkinRX uses organic aloe.  Like I said, I love everything about the product, and definitely think it's worth trying it out!

Update: (6/18/2013)  I ended up purchasing the product after all.  My skin was SO terrible, it was unbearable.  So I talked with Jenny and she said that the product is so expensive because of how big the bottle is.  After receiving the product, I agree.  The product will last me a long time!  There is so much of the cleanser because it can be used as body wash as well.  Jenny said that her bottle has lasted her about a year.  I chose to purchase just the face wash and moisturizer, eventually I would like to get the EX3 as well.  But even though I'm not using the EX3, my skin has continued to look amazing even with just the cleanser and the moisturizer.  Definitely worth every penny!

"Two for the Dough" by Janet Evanovich

get it here
This was the second book in the "Stephanie Plum novels."  I reviewed the first book in the series here.  I found this one a little harder to get into than the first book, but once it got moving I really enjoyed it.  This book is a continuation of the first book, so basically Stephanie gets another assignment to hunt down another criminal, Kenny.  This time she has Morelli helping her out, which makes it fun to see their flirting and attraction for each other play out.  My favorite part about this book is her grandma.  She is hilarious!  There are quite a few really funny parts of this book.  Again, this was a really easy read and I will definitely continue to read the series.

High Five For Friday!

This week has been AWESOME!

1.  I had my last day of lecture on Tuesday EVER!  I may decide to go back to school again someday, but with everything we have going on now I have decided to be done.  I have been going to school mostly part time since I graduated from high school so I deserve a break and I am SO excited about it!

2.  The weather has been absolutely beautiful!  We have been out walking every nice day we have had.  I have labeled myself as a "pro dog walker."  I have gotten pretty good at keeping these 3 walking together and not getting all tangled on each other and me.

3.  With the beautiful weather, we have had lots of our bird visitors.  Lily has enjoyed watching them and "talking" to them.  I love it!

4.  We got our pass for the dog park for the year.  We went on a really hot day so we didn't get to stay too long (the boston's can't handle the heat for too long).  But they did have a blast hanging out with the other dogs and chasing the ball.  We will definitely be going there a lot this summer.

5.  The most exciting news I saved for last... We closed on our land on Tuesday!!  We are officially land owners :)  We got building permits yesterday and our on the way to building our dream home!  I can't wait!!

Our love for Toyotas...

We had found out awhile ago that unfortunately the Camry had been totaled.  The insurance company took FOREVER to let us know, which if you ask me was pretty shitty of them.  Anyways... we had to make a decision on what kind of car to get to replace the Camry.  After A LOT of talking about it, we finally decided that the Rav4 was the best fit for us. So here she is...

I haven't thought of a name for her yet.  But I am IN LOVE with her!  When we were looking at buying the Highlander, I kept mentioning the Rav4 but Mark shot me down.  This time he had no choice since the Camry was totaled, so we decided we are keeping the Rav4 and selling the Highlander.  Then we will either get another Camry or a Corolla for him to use for his side-jobs since we rarely use the second vehicle.  Much better for saving gas.
I'm also extremely relieved to have the car shopping done!  Man, that is a stressful time!  Luckily we met some really nice car salesmen (and one bad one) but it helped the experience go a bit more smoothly.  It took us about 4 days to finally get what we wanted, but in the grand scheme of things, that wasn't a whole lot of time. Plus, we got an amazing deal!  They kind of messed up by telling me one of the other Rav4's (which was in our price range) was 4 wheel drive, when it wasn't.  So they made it up to me by getting me one that was 2 years newer with 15,000 less miles for around the same price.  Score!
I have been having a blast driving her around.  I love that the trunk opens like a door.  They cleaned her up really nice at the dealership.  And an added bonus was when I went to put in a CD, there was already one in there.  They never took the previous owners CD out so I got myself a FREE Phillip Phillips CD.  Pretty good CD too!
